The Georgia Eye Institute was founded in 1992 with the goal of creating an ophthalmology practice that would provide comprehensive eye care for the Savannah area. Our practice has grown and we remain committed to excellence in eyecare. The Institute has fellowship-trained physicians to care for patients with complex ocular disease including corneal issues, glaucoma, retinal disease as well as pathology of the eye lids and orbit. Georgia Eye also offers comprehensive optometric care at all of our locations.
Avastin Recall Alert
Georgia Eye Institute is aware of the Avastin recall, we do not purchase our Avastin from the compounding company involved in this recall.
Following at least five reports of eye infections, an Avastin syringe recall was issued on March 18. The recalled Avastin syringes were distributed in Indiana, Georgia, Louisiana, and South Carolina specifically for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
